The article's goal is to elaborate and systematize a vision of the intellectual's task which could be derived from Foucault's text. It analyzes Foucault's critique against the notion of subject, and humanism. This analysis has the purpose of showing that a certain notion of subject can be rescued because Foucault's critique is not total. This rescue shows that the description of the intellectual, as offered by the French author, cannot be sustained without a necessary reference to the subject and to the values of freedom and truth. Starting from Foucault's notion of "body", the idea article rejects that the subject is only a "grammatical fold".
