Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the morality’s role in one of the most important promises professed by transhumanism, the promise of human immortality. This purpose will be carried out through the interpretation of the short tale: The Immortal by Jorge Luis Borges. This in order to unveil the close relationship that exists between the moral dimension of man - the question of what should I do - and the recognition of his finitude, of his becoming, as a being that forms his own narrative in the world.
