In this paper, an analysis of Michael Behe's (biochemistry, author of "Darwin's Black Box", and leader of the ID movement) position regarding the materialistic-Darwinian approach to the origin of life is made. Furthermore, two of the main criticisms that have been made against his point of view are described. Special attention is placed on the epistemological restrictions to any kind of creationism, whether it accepts (as in Behe's case) or rejects (as in other figures of the movement) evolution as a historical fact; and on the unjustified ontological statements that several scientists make from such limitation.
