Abstract

This article reviews a series of authors who have worked on the notion of democratic consolidation. The article argues that a great part of the debate focuses on the models of democracy in terms of procedures. The piece also looks at Latin American politics in the past two decades in light of the existing theory of democratic consolidation; in so doing it highlights that the political models of several countries in the region are being undetermined.
