Kant's conception of the ego has been conventionally considered as noumenal and monadic. This traditional interpretation -not quite correct for me- arises from not considering Kant's writings on Religion as part of criticism, and particularly from seeing them as detached from his work on Ethics. In this article, I intend to defend a more open interpretation of Kant's criticism, which is an interpretation that incorporates his ethical, historical, and religious works while closely keeping in sight the transformations experienced by the ego and its relation to the other.
