Abstract

"Favoritism and Legalism", a book written by Jesús Muñoz Tébar, a notable proman of the XIX century liberalism, reflects the preoccupation of an era to begin to decipher the origins of the autocratic "caudillismo" flagellum that has defined the social and political facts, not only of Venezuela but of the rest of the Latin American Nations. In the book the possible causes of even effective problems are analyzed with depth, standing out the contribution of the author is trying to expose a range of solutions related to the improvement of the social and individual customs, thus solving the perennial worry of favoritism in the exercise of the power. No doubt, this book is a historical reference for those who are sunk in the incommensurable question of when all began
