Dao: Unity, Emptiness, Totality. A Generative and Organic Vision of the Cosmos?

Abstract

Our goal in this article, far from promoting any detailed recompilation of Dao's ideal concept through the centuries, is focused to interrogate the substance that emanates from the concept itself, to prove or not its significance and symbolic meanings. We shall suggest its permanency as a philosophical tool related to a more than a probable revival of archaic mythical schemes.
