Although Aristotle and Leibniz have some points in common -They were not only philosophers but also scientific researchers, and they proposed wide metaphysical systems the research concerned with the points in common between these two thinkers is not the goal of this article. The concern of the article is focused on a more limited topic: the notion of entelechy. To give some coherence to the exposition of the research the author follows a chronological order. First, he exposes the notion of entelechy in Aristotle, and later works, more detailed, with the same notion in Leibniz. The differences o similarities between the two conceptions of the word are also worked at the same time that the author exposes the development of the Leibnizian conception.
