This paper deals with the fundamental question of science as only a body of knowledge and technology a group of instruments and techniques natural with regards to their aims and to the consequences of their use. The starting point is the argument that science cannot be considered morally isolated and separated from ethical considerations. Then, on the grounds put forward by León Olivé, the author refers to scientific, philosophical, and public images of science and technology. The paper concludes with the presentation of the ethical implications of action, dominance, and the possible ethical transformation for the development of the scientific and technological complex.
