This article offers the variations in the construction of the research object and proof's conception and the inseparable relationship between truth and power, that lies beneath these constructions and conceptions, as exposed by Foucault. The development of the article presents the variations from the perspective of the interpretation of Oedipus. The author concludes that there is not one Oedipus but as many as can emerge from different research processes. This conclusion expresses, on the other hand, the thesis that the object of study of given research is constructed from an empirical, real basis, signed by the conditionings of power, theoretical assumptions, proposed research objectives and the standing social imagery.
