Abstract

This paper is concerned with determining the semantic evolution of the contingency, and also the analysis of modernity's relationship between social contingency and political liberalism. Therefore, it edges the problem in the break supposed at the rise of the axial civilizations, establishing a difference between pre-axial religions and axial religions.
