The Modern Guayana Magazine is a publication of the Center for Regional Studies of the Andrés Bello Catholic University. It is an open call, with an annual periodicity, whose purpose is to serve as a disseminating body for research in progress or carried out at the University and in other educational institutions or organizations, which make significant contributions to knowledge in areas related to the interest of the Center.
The purpose of the call is to invite the academic community to submit research products in accordance with the following general recommendations: a) The research products must be framed in the areas of interest of the CER, namely: PanAmazonia, Water Quality, Education, Democracy and Citizenship, Native Peoples, Extractivism and Neo-extractivism, Labor Rights and Conflict, Local, National and International Development, gender violence, civil rights.
This issue contains 9 articles, two essays and a review of an event. Aura Balbi, Sandra Cáceres and María Mendoza, present a research related to the expectations of the students of the UCAB Guayana. The purpose of the study focused on knowing the concerns of the institution's student body, and from their point of view how they evaluate what what the University is doing in terms of providing a quality educational service, particularly if the activities that are scheduled to promote their comprehensive training respond to their needs, due to the lack of use of the services offered by the University.
In the context of the migratory phenomenon of Venezuelan citizens to other Latin American countries, Daniel Guerra García provides us with an investigation that contemplates the educational inclusion of Venezuelan children and young people in the Ecuadorian educational system. Study promoted by the Enseña Ecuador Foundation and the Inter-American Development Bank.
