Abstract

The purpose of this research consisted in proposing management strategies for pedagogical accompaniment to the teachers of Primary Education of the UEM Simón Bolívar, located in Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar state. The inquiry was based on the feasible project modality, supported by descriptive research with a non-experimental and field design. The population and sample consisted of 23 teachers to whom a semi-structured interview and a questionnaire were applied. The questionnaire was validated through expert judgment and the reliability was determined by applying Cronbach's Alpha. For data analysis, quantitative and qualitative techniques were used. The results made it possible to show that the pedagogical support is promoted by the Education Directorate, that the campus management follows the guidelines of the governing body but the campus management does not carry out the complete procedure by ignoring stages of the process that are key to optimizing the activity of classroom conducted by Primary Education teachers, such as formally communicating the results of the visits made to the classroom and offering the possibility of improvement to the teachers. The fact that more than half of primary school teachers graduated from Preschool education and do not have the aptitudes for an education in accordance with the requirements of the institutional objectives was not considered. Relevant conclusions include the need to recognize the weaknesses detected and the implementation of management strategies that are necessary to contribute to the professional growth of the institution's teaching staff. To this end, the proposal is made as an express recommendation for the management and support staff of the Mayor's Office.
