Research, as one of the substantive functions of university education institutions, should be transversal to the other activities carried out in order to contribute to the solution of the problems of the context or areas of influence of educational organizations and the permanent improvement of the quality of education offered. From that perspective and in accordance with Bunge (1986): “researching means giving answers to problems of knowledge. It implies or requires basic attitudes and capacities of discovery, astonishment, reflective thinking, relating theory and empiricism, distancing, social sensitivity and intellectual craftsmanship… ”(p. 13).
