Technological changes of GTH in digital environments. Case: Hotel sector of Puerto Ordaz.

Abstract

The purpose of this study, developed during the period April 2020 and April 2021, was to evaluate the technological changes in the management of human talent in the hotel sector of Puerto Ordaz, with a level of descriptive research and field design. The unit of analysis was determined by those in charge of the Human Resources departments of five (5) selected hotels in the city, with a population identified as those in charge of the HR departments of these five (5) hotel companies, and a sample defined through the type of census sampling, from whom the pertinent information was obtained according to the variable established as technological changes in human talent management. According to the research strategy used to fulfill the objectives, the transversal actions consolidated in the human talent management model in the context of organizational technological change were identified by Cuba, Hernández and Vera (2018), in the dimensions selected as : talent recruitment, talent training and development, talent compensation, organizational culture, and organizational communication; a semi-structured interview was applied to describe the digital strategies implemented in each dimension of human talent management in the selected hotels; then, a written questionnaire with a Likert-type scale was applied to analyze the organizational technological changes of each human talent management process of said companies, to finally evaluate said changes in this sector. From the results obtained, it was possible to show that the HR departments of the hotel companies of Puerto Ordaz present significant technological changes in terms of human talent management, and in turn, it was shown that there are no practices associated with these changes that are totally absent in the departments.
