No. 67 (2026)
The Institute of Historical Research presents issue No. 67 of Montalbán journal. Inside, readers will find a central dossier based on the presentations given at the second Seminar on Ethnohistory, held at Andrés Bello Catholic University on 17, 18 and 19 June 2025. A dozen prominent researchers gathered to review the thinking of physician and anthropologist Rafael Requena, whose archive is housed at the aforementioned institute, as well as to analyse ethnohistory studies in Venezuela and the theoretical and methodological problems involved in approaching them. In the Communications section, we find contributions from Father Carlos Rodríguez Souquet, who presents the astronomical side of the Jesuit priest Alejandro Mas y Rubí, a native of Zulia state, and Edgar Figuera-Bottini, a doctoral student in history who is conducting research on Lisandro Alvarado and the ethnography of customs. In the Miscellaneous section, Dr Miguel Gómez Muci analyses the administration of the Comptroller General of the Republic, José Muci-Abraham, between 1974 and 1976. To conclude, we find reviews of the books Más de Cien años de silencio (More than a Hundred Years of Silence) by León Hernández and Guerra Fría Global: El pensamiento militar chileno y venezolano y venezolano (1960-1970) (Global Cold War: Chilean and Venezuelan Military Thought (1960-1970)) by Froilán Ramos Rodríguez.
