The inadequate management of solid waste represents one of the environmental problems of greatest concern for today's society. Given this reality, the objective of this work was to develop an environmental educational program for the promotion of integrated solid waste management in the IDECYT-UNESR, located in the upper sector of La Mariposa, Los Salías municipality, Miranda State, Venezuela, through the execution of an environmental educational program. This work was carried out under the modality of a feasible project supported by field research. Environmental training was contextualized in the approach to sustainability and environmental education. The procedure was carried out in five phases: (1) Diagnosis of the current management of solid waste in the IDECYT. (2) Analysis of the feasibility of an environmental educational program for the promotion of integrated solid waste management in the IDECYT-UNESR (3) Design of the environmental educational program, and (4) Validation of the program by experts. The techniques used were: direct observation, in-depth interviews with key subjects and the survey, and the instruments used were a direct observation guide, interview script and the questionnaire. In the study carried out, it was possible to detect inadequate management of the solid waste generated in the institution, and that even though the attitudes of the members of the IDECYT-UNESR are pro-environmental, the behaviors of the citizens who live in the IDECYT are not They are equivalent to these. With the application of this program, it is expected to promote adequate and comprehensive waste management at IDECYT.
