Publishing ethics

STATEMENT ON ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICES FOR PUBLICATION IN MODERN GUAYANA:

Guayana Moderna assumes the firm commitment of being a faithful guarantor of the correct practices of a scientific and academic publication under ethical and quality criteria of the published documents.

Guayana Moderna has as a basis and reference for such practices the Code of Conduct and Best Practices. Guidelines for Journal Editors (Version 4), March 2011, and the Basic Practices (2017) defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for editors of scientific journals. Likewise, it is responsible for offering answers adjusted to the needs of readers and authors.

Guayana Moderna is a Research Journal that strives for excellence in the quality of its publications, safeguarding and respecting the content and integrity of all its documents. The Editorial Team is committed to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when necessary.

In compliance with its already consolidated good practices and others that may be incorporated, the journal Guayana Moderna has a system of selection of documents that are reviewed by external evaluators - anonymous and peer reviewers - with criteria established by the scientific relevance of the published document: originality, clarity, adequacy to the rules of style and relevance of the work presented with the areas of interest of the journal.

The journal protects and guarantees at all times the confidentiality of the evaluation process, the anonymity of the evaluators and authors, the evaluated content, the reasoned report of the evaluators and any other communication issued by the Editorial Team. The Editorial Team has the

power to resolve potential conflicts of interest, of any kind, in order to preserve the honorability of the parties involved.

Guayana Moderna declares its commitment to safeguard, respect and integrity of the works already published in its digital platform.

Plagiarism is strictly forbidden and texts that are identified as such, or whose content is demonstrably fraudulent, or are not unpublished because their publication has been confirmed in other instances, will be removed from the journal if they have already been published or are in the process of being published. In these cases, the journal will act as quickly as possible.

By accepting the terms and agreements expressed by Guayana Moderna Journal, the authors must guarantee that the written document and the materials associated with it are original and do not infringe copyright.

In case of shared authorship, the authors must justify in writing that there was full consensus of all of them to publish the document, that it has not been submitted with minor modifications or variation of the title or previously published in another media, and allow their document to be freely accessible through the electronic platform of the journal Guayana Moderna.
