Abstract

The objective of the research was to design a digital manual for laboratory and field work in the National Training Program in Geosciences (PNFG), as a multimodal proposal based on technological tools and applications; alternative to the traditional teaching-learning model, in order to respond to the educational crisis that global society is currently going through, due to the COVID-19 pandemic decreed in 2020 by WHO. The aforementioned research proposes a feasible project framed in the emerging paradigm, whose methodology conducted under a qualitative perspective, transcended the field level to reach a level of understanding and interpretation that allowed the development of the manual. The study considered the participation of 48 students randomly from quarters A and B 2021 of the PNFG of the Territorial Polytechnic University of Mérida, through a survey carried out with the help of the Google Drive technology platform. The investigation is structured in six moments: The first of them covers the problem, objectives, justification, scope and limitations of the same, the second includes the development of the epistemic context that offers an overview of the background, theoretical and legal bases, the third composed of the methodological description used, the fourth includes the analysis and presentation of the results of the applied survey, the fifth contemplates the proposal for a multimodal digital manual for laboratory and field work. Finally, the sixth moment presents final reflections and recommendations of the research project that allows us to glimpse the need of Geoscience Engineering students for an intelligible and didactic digital material that allows them to fill academic gaps; In addition to favoring reflection on the relevance of implementing a multimodal model as an alternative to the traditional educational model, within a process of changes in educational references and the academic relationship of the teacher with the student.
