Abstract

This article presents the strategies necessary to transform the aluminum sector of Guayana city into a green and sustainable eco-industrial park, based on the use of renewable energy and under a circular economic model, so that all waste can be used by other industries in the area. The objective is to turn the entire aluminum sector into a viable, sustainable and productive business, so that it becomes attractive to investors again. The work is a conceptual, qualitative proposal, developed under an experiential introspective epistemological approach. The strategies require, first of all, to consolidate the hydroelectric energy sources available in the region, so that they are the driving force that drives the rebirth of the entire aluminum sector and allows the eco-manufacturing of green products. The eco-industrial park must be accompanied by a technological research and development center for the design and development of sustainable technologies. The other key strategies include the creation of a comprehensive slag and scrap processing center, consistent with a circular economy; develop a new basket of green products, containing a high percentage of recycled aluminum and with a lower emission of greenhouse gases; promote, through green marketing, a venezuelan own brand for sustainable, low-carbon aluminum to be manufactured within the eco-industrial park. Finally, install electrolyzers to generate green hydrogen that further encourages those companies looking for a location that allows them to be carbon neutral or carbon zero.
