Predicción de la intención de integrar IA en la labor docente universitaria

The purpose of this research was, based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), to evaluate the predictive capacity of attitudes, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control on the intention of teachers to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in university teaching processes. For this purpose, 372 professors from a university in Venezuela were surveyed, where 58% were male and 42% female with a mean age of 51 years (S. D. = 13.3). The overall results indicate that female professors perceive greater social pressure than their male peers to use AI in the classroom. The best predictor of intention was positive attitudes toward AI, followed to a lesser extent by behavioral control and subjective norm. In addition, subjective norm is not relevant for predicting the intention to use AI by teachers who already use this type of technology. It is concluded that TPB can predict the intention to implement AI in teacher management, suggesting that in interventions the most important variable for increasing intention is teachers' attitudes toward AI.
