This article focuses primarily on the relationship between literature and communication, as both stem from the acquisition of knowledge. Therefore, its central objective is to determine the influence of literary art on human communication processes, which can pave the way for interpreting the communicative process generated within literary texts. The study also emphasizes the social understanding of linguistic signs that create the link between literature and other communicative elements. In terms of methodology, the study employs a qualitative approach, aiming to review and interpret literary art in direct relation to communicative processes. It is also considered a documentary study, as the information was obtained primarily from the review and analysis of documentary sources such as scientific articles, books, reports, theses, and other documents. The method applied is analytical, studying concepts and historical events based on the selection of documents. In addition, critical reading and bibliographic research were used as investigative strategies, allowing for in-depth analysis of various documents. Finally, a content analysis matrix was implemented as a technique and instrument of analysis. This matrix highlights the most important aspects of the relationship between the two areas under study: literature and communication. The results indicate that literature is modified and adapted according to the communicative processes of the era in which the work is created. Finally, it is concluded that within the communication environment, there are narrative elements that allow for the recreation of events, and that literature, through its constant interaction with the social environment, fosters the development of communicative skills.
