Abstract

A brief documentary tour is made about the censorships and communication processes that were experienced in Venezuela, before and after its independence, and until the emergence of a first government that considered respect for freedom of expression, according to previous historiographical balances. The trip allows social changes that, although they may have been delayed by discursive impositions, occurred in the end, at the pace of the new ideas that circulated in the country.
