Abstract

Due to the recent global problem of COVID-19, and the need to maintain social distancing, a simulation for a constant pressure filtration process was developed under the scheme of the equipment available in the separation process laboratory of the Metropolitan University through MATLAB in order to carry out an experimental procedure in a virtual way. For this, the experimental equations corresponding to the filtration process were adapted, taking as reference the physical parameters of the equipment and the properties of calcium bicarbonate (CaCO3) as solid to be filtered, to establish the code of a program based on the interface of MATLAB whose application allowed to obtain results adjusted to presencial laboratory practices.
