The July-December 2025 issue of Lógoi, Revista de Filosofía, features Professor Tulio Alberto Álvarez Ramos as guest editor.
This issue of the journal is dedicated to the philosophy of sustainable development, the preservation of our Common Home, and climate change, topics that constitute essential pillars of contemporary philosophical discourse. It is considered essential to foster a critical analysis of the relationship between humanity and its environment. Hans Jonas, in his book The Responsibility Principle (1995), points out the importance of an ethics of anticipation that examines the long-term consequences of our actions on future generations, establishing the foundations for an environmental ethic that addresses uncontrolled development capable of endangering human life and its environment. "The future survival of the human species is something that comes simply with the expansion of our power over such things, which is first and foremost the power of destruction" (Jonas 1995, 197). Similarly, the encyclical letter Laudato Si. Pope Francis's On Care for Our Common Home (2015) has placed the debate on our "Common Home" in a global context, highlighting the connection between ecological and social crises, as well as the pressing need for an integral ecological conversion.
