Abstract

This document presents the results obtained after applying some of the indicators proposed by the ISO 37120:2014 standard, referring to the sustainable development of cities, in three Venezuelan localities, specifically the Municipality of Chacao, Ciudad Guayana and Maracaibo. The processed data corresponds to the 2011 National Census and references from Mayors and Municipalities. Some areas evaluated are waste collection, availability of drinking and served water, proportion of voters who exercised their right to vote in the 2013 elections, percentage of people below the poverty line, among others. The analysis is guided by the comparison between each locality and the extreme values obtained, with the aim of making important findings for future research that deepens the continuous improvement in the quality of life of Venezuelans.
