In this essay were presented some reflections about cultural policies in Venezuela in relation to the transformation of the reading culture. An analysis of the current context was made to then propose some work strategies for the promotion of reading based on training modules and knowledge management in reading scenarios, in order to promote the exchange and multifaceted growth, where emotional, intellectual and commercial elements that strengthen or conceive the reading habit play a role. A reading promotion policy allows the development of identity in educational and work spaces, highlighting the importance of reading as a total activity that stimulates participation and critical review of ourselves. Strategies were proposed with the intention of proposing viable alternative solutions to deal with the social situations that have deepened in the country in recent years. The problem was approached from the social sciences, advocating for an interdisciplinary diagnosis of a communicational phenomenon that is leading to long-term transformations in the region's cultural economies.
