Analysis of the production line of a factory in the furniture industry based on process simulation

Abstract

This work contains an analysis for a wooden furniture manufacturing and exporting company. A simulation model was developed for the supply of raw materials in one of its production lines. With the support of the SIMIO simulation software, it was possible to appreciate the current state of the company and compare it with how it could improve with the proposal by carrying out scenarios. It was observed that there was excess wood, but by reducing the amount of wood by 25%, the demand for finished product was met without incurring warehouse costs.
