Abstract
This project arose, thanks to the magnificent opportunity to have contact with a Venezuelan family that lives in Vienna, where they have been participating in a community garden for two years, in their residential area, where they grow various vegetables in 15 m2 family plots. In the first part, various successful global experiences in Urban Agriculture were reviewed, cases such as Vienna, Toronto, Havana, Rosario, Barcelona and Girona, documented in different bibliographies, with satisfactory results (with adequate technology in one square meter it can be can produce up to 20 kilos of vegetables). Then, based on the documentation provided by them and the available bibliography, the initiative was adapted to our environment, in compliance with several of the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 (Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture; Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable; Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its effects). Based on what has been stated, a simple methodology is proposed, based on a cycle of 7 steps, which are executed from the fundamental base of society, the family, promoting cooperation between neighbors, which in any city its inhabitants can follow, to that through urban agriculture they become sustainable, social, friendly communities with healthy and humane individuals, improving their nutrition with healthy and fresh products produced by themselves, and are societies that generate direct and indirect jobs with economic gains and with better quality of life.
