Abstract

The research recognizes the private company as a necessary and influential social entity, capable of ensuring the well-being of its own human capital and promoting the progress of the society to which it belongs. Under this precept, a “System of Country Sustainability Variables” is then designed, a “System of Business Sustainability Variables”, a “Reference Framework of Cardinal Country Sustainability Indicators”, a “Reference Framework of Cardinal Business Sustainability Indicators”, a “Country Sustainability Index” (called “Citizen Wellbeing Index”), a “Business Sustainability Index”, and a “Methodology of Adaptation to Business Management Management”, all instruments of a standard nature and of general application that aim to facilitate the management body of for-profit commercial companies the use of practical and useful tools for the design, planning, implementation and control of sustainable business strategies, and strategic action plans that are committed to the comprehensive sustainability of their activities operational. In the design process of these instruments, the focus is primarily on the commercial and economic success of the company, the comprehensive well-being of its human capital and the rest of the stakeholders, the civic progress of the communities, the country and the global society to which that belongs, and the preservation of the natural environment that surrounds it, taking as a fundamental basis the bioethical principles and guidelines for sustainable development that are promoted by the United Nations (UN) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
