Breve historia de la radio en Venezuela (Carlota Fuenmayor de Domínguez)

Resumen

En este artículo la radio es tratada desde diversos flancos retrospectivos: desde el primer circuíto radiofónico en Estados Unidos a su llegada a Venezuela durante la dictadura de Juan Vicente Gómez, pasando por la llamada "época dorada" de los años cuarenta y comienzos de los cincuenta, su resistencia frente al surgimiento de la televisión y su diversificación a través de la apertura, a finales de los años ochenta, de emisoras FM.

Abstract

A Brief Story of Radio in Venezuela

The evolution of radio in Venezuela has ran parallel to the changes in venezuelan society. Starting as a technological innovation, this media has absorbed and defined specific genres within the information and entretainment fields. In this paper radio is understood from several retrospectives standpoints. Starting with the first network in the United States to its arrival in Venezuela during General Juan Vicente Gómez's dictatorship, passing by the forties and early fifities so-called "Golden Age", its resistance before television, and its diversification in the eighties due to the opening of FM stations, which obliged AM stations to segment their offer.

Dans cet article, la radio est abordée en rétrospective depuis la création du circuit radiophonique et son implatation au Venezuela sous la dictadure de Juan Vicente Gómez jusqu'à l'arrivée des stations FM à la fin des années quatre-vingts, On décrira l' « age d'or » de la radio vénézuélienne (années quarante  et début des cinquante), puis l'étape de remise en question avec l'irruption de la télévision.
