Abstract

The present research aimed to identify the relationship between satisfaction with life and organizational commitment of some professors of the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB). This is characterized by being a quantitative research, adopting a non-experimental, cross-correlational research design. The actors considered in this research has a minimum time of six months working within the institution and have a full-time working day or a part-time teaching responsibility. The population consisted of a group of 198 teachers, which ended in a sample of 87 teachers. To collect the information it was used the Life Satisfaction scale developed by Diener, Emmons, Larsen and Griffin (1985) and the Organization Attributes Questionnaire by Meyer and Allen (1990). It is concluded that there is a weak negative correlation between the main variables. It was also possible to corroborate that there is no significant relationship between life satisfaction and the components of organizational commitment.
