Abstract

This research was aimed to assist in the design of a competency-based performance evaluation system for a telecommunications company with two headquarters and 16 employees in Venezuela in 2022. The research was carried out in a telecommunications company with 2 offices and 16 employees. The research was based on Campbell's (1993) General Theory of Job Performance. This is an applied cross-sectional research and development study. The unit of analysis was the employees of the telecommunications company where the study was carried out and those workers with a date of entry in 2021 or previous years were selected. There was social validation by the company's management. Data were collected using a performance evaluation instrument that was designed for this study with the guidance of a judge who is an expert in the field. Data analysis was performed by calculating descriptive statistics. It is expected to have designed an evaluation system that is useful for measuring employee performance and works to later make personnel decisions based on the results. This study served as a contribution to the organization as it allowed it to contribute to the maturity of its human resources processes, helped with the development of the student's research skills and generated practical knowledge in the area.
