Abstract

There are questions regarding the benefits of online education in times of pandemic: continuous hours in front of the screens of technological devices lead to loss of attention and ability to process information, while the accumulation of homework triggers anxiety to finish and leave from the “home prison”, to attend the public space and socialize with real people. Other criticisms have to do with the lack of time to develop discussions in class and delve into certain topics, as well as the displacement of deep reading for digital reading, which does not contribute to the development of reasoning.

The advantages offered by the online modality must be reviewed and placed in the real context of people and schools. Young people seem to have discovered that "it was not as extraordinary as it was claimed."
