COPYRIGHT NOTICE

  • Montalbán Journal holds the right, license, and exclusivity to reproduce, distribute, and first publish the author's work once it has been approved by the Editorial Board and reviewed by the referees. The author must ensure that the work is original and unpublished.
  • The author retains the right to distribute or publish their work in other venues deemed appropriate after it has been published in the journal; however, Montalbán Journal maintains exclusivity over the formatted edition published in its repositories.
  • Montalbán Journal holds the irrevocable right and license to reproduce, publish, preserve, distribute, promote, share, or archive the author's work in its repositories.
  • The author grants Montalbán Journal the authority to perform orthotypographic corrections and to format the work according to the style, guidelines, and instructions specified in the Montalbán Journal’s author guidelines.

Instructions for Authors

MONTALBÁN is the peer-reviewed and indexed publication of the Institute of Historical Research at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. It meets the requirements established by REVENCYT and LATINDEX. This journal is open to the fields of history, anthropology, and ethnolinguistics related to Venezuela, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

All article submissions must comply with the following guidelines:

1)   Articles must comply with all the guidelines specified in this document to be considered for peer review. If any of the guidelines are not met, the article will be returned until it adheres to the established requirements.

2)    Submissions must be original and unpublished, not exceeding thirty (30) pages, including all graphic, photographic, cartographic materials, charts, tables, and notes.

3)   Articles published in MONTALBÁN Journal are governed by the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA license. Being open access, they may be freely shared, adapted, and redistributed as long as the author is credited and the work is not used for commercial purposes.

4)   The editorial team will acknowledge receipt of submitted manuscripts within twenty (20) business days following their submission.

5)    Acceptance of each submission depends on the confidential evaluation by two anonymous reviewers. Based on these evaluations, the editorial team will decide on publication and inform authors within no less than three months.
