DORA Statement

03/16/2026

Tekhné Journal, an academic publication of the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB), is dedicated to the dissemination of original, rigorous, and relevant research in the fields of engineering, technology, and applied sciences. The journal aims to contribute to scientific and technological development, foster international academic exchange, and promote research that has meaningful impact on both the scientific community and society.

In line with these goals, the journal recognizes the importance of responsible, transparent, and equitable practices in the assessment of scientific research.

About DORA

The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment is a global initiative that promotes improvements in the ways research outputs are evaluated. DORA encourages the elimination of inappropriate uses of journal-based metrics, such as the Journal Impact Factor, in funding, appointment, and promotion decisions. Instead, it advocates for the assessment of research based on its intrinsic quality, methodological rigor, and scholarly or societal contribution.
