Para lograr esto, se tomó como unidad de análisis a las grandes organizaciones afiliadas a la Cámara de Comercio, Industria y Servicios de Caracas, compuesta por una población de 40 organizaciones, además de las organizaciones catalogadas como socialmente responsables por la Revista Gerente, abarcando una población de 25, y 5 organizaciones pertenecientes al listado del “Top 100 Companies” de la Cámara Venezolano Americana de Comercio Industria para el 2011. La recolección de información se llevó a cabo en un total de 22 organizaciones, empleando una entrevista semi-estructurada, la cual fue aplicada a los responsables de recursos humanos. Los resultados dan cuenta de pocos avances en relación con los procesos de inclusión y gestión de los individuos con discapacidad y plantean la necesidad de políticas integrales en cuyo desarrollo participen todos los actores de la sociedad.</p><p>Progress and challenges in large Venezuelan organizations regarding the employment of people with disabilities</p><p>The study aimed to describe, from the perspective of organizations, the progress and difficulties associated with the integration of people with disabilities into the labor market in the context of the requirements of the Disability Act. To achieve this, the unit of analysis for this research included large organizations affiliated to the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Caracas, consisting of a population of 40 organizations, and organizations classified as socially responsible by Revista Gerente, covering a population of 25, and five organizations from the list of "Top 100 Companies" of the Venezuelan American Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2011. Data collection was performed in a total of 22 organizations, using a semi-structured interview, which was applied to individuals who are responsible of the human resources function.
