Resumen

El objetivo de esta comunicación es realizar una breve reseña sobre el 14° Congreso Mundial de Relaciones Industriales organizado por la Asociación Internacional de Relaciones Industriales (AIRI), el cual se llevó a cabo en la ciudad de Lima-Perú, del 11 al 14 de septiembre de 2006, contando con la participación de alrededor de 500 personas de 51 países del mundo. El Congreso se tituló Actores Sociales, Organización del Trabajo y Nuevas Tecnologías en el Siglo XXI y cubrió cinco temas principales: 1. Diálogo Social, Libertad Económica y Relaciones Industriales; 2. Gerencia de Recursos Humanos y Nuevas Relaciones de Trabajo; 3. Empleo Productivo y Educación; 4. Políticas de Protección Social; y, 5. Integración y Libre Mercado en las Américas. Cada bloque a su vez contaba con una sesión plenaria, varias mesas de trabajo, sesiones de presentación de investigaciones o seminarios especiales, que los asistentes podían seleccionar de acuerdo a su interés, lo cual enriqueció el contenido del evento. Los idiomas oficiales fueron el Español y el Inglés. Realmente significó un evento de gran importancia para compartir conocimientos sobre esta importante disciplina.

 

The objective of this communication is to make a brief review on 14° World-wide Congress of Industrial Relations organized by the International Industrial Relations Asociation (AIRT), which was carried out in the city of Lima-Peru, from the 11 to the 14 of September of 2006 with the participation of around 500 delegates from 51 countries worldwide. The Congress was titled “Social actors, Work Organization and New Technologies in Century XXI” and covered five main subjects: 1. Social Dialogue, Economic Freedom and Industrial Relations; 2. Human Resource Management and the New Labour Relations; 3. Productive Employment and Education; 4. Policies of Social Protection; and 5. Integration and Free Trade in the Americas: How much trade or Quality of Life.  Each block contained a plenary session, several workshops, special sessions of presentation of investigations or seminars that the assistants could select according to their interest. It was an event of great importance where knowledge on this important discipline was shared.
