El jesuita expulso Lorenzo Hervás y Panduro (1735-1809), erudito y polígrafo, dejó inéditos muchos manuscritos, entre los que destacan dos Apéndices, a su Biblioteca jesuítico-española. El abate Hervás intentó que el gobierno de Madrid, a través del preceptor real Pérez Bayer contratase a varios ex jesuitas españoles desterrados para que registrasen las bibliotecas italianas en búsqueda de manuscritos de temática hispano-portuguesa. Al fallarle el proyecto, él mismo redactó dichos Apéndices. En el Apéndice I reúne los catálogos de manuscritos de escritores españoles y portugueses existentes en siete bibliotecas insignes de Roma, a saber, en las bibliotecas Angélica, Barberini, Casanatense, Corsini, Jesuítica del Colegio Romano, Vallicellana y del cardenal Zelada, patentizando sus dotes de riguroso investigador e historiador. En el Apéndice II describe los "Códices, que de colecciones canónico-españolas hay en las Bibliotecas de Roma", mostrando su pericia como canonista en la Iglesia hispano-visigoda. Las más de 800 entradas y más de 2000 documentos del Apéndice I ilustran acontecimientos y datos históricos y literarios, algunos hoy conocidos por estudios posteriores, pero que conservan la lozanía de la coetaneidad, la espontaneidad y la viveza de quien cuenta experiencias personales vividas, dentro y fuera de las bibliotecas. El abate manchego realiza su labor bibliográfica en los archivos romanos cuando ya rondaba los 60 años de edad y se fija sobre todo en los manuscritos que aportan cierto contenido filosófico o experiencia vital.

Lorenzo Hervás and Panduro, "Mouse" in the Libraries of Rome. Hispanic-Portuguese Crimits

Abstract:
The Jesuit expelled Lorenzo Hervás and Panduro (1735-1809), scholar and polygrapher, left unpublished many manuscripts, among which two Appendices stand out, to his Jesuit-Spanish Library. The Abbe Hervás tried to get the Madrid government, through the royal preceptor Pérez Bayer, to hire former Spanish Jesuits to register the Italian libraries in search of Spanish-Portuguese manuscripts. When the project failed, he wrote the Appendices. In Appendix I, it gathers the catalogs of manuscripts of Spanish and Portuguese writers in seven outstanding libraries in Rome, namely the Angélica, Barberini, Casanatense, Corsini, Jesuit Library of the Romano College, Vallicellana and Cardinal Zelada, flauting his gifts of as a rigorous researcher and historian. In Appendix II he describes the "Codices, from canonical-Spanish collections in the Libraries of Rome", showing his expertise as a canonist in the Hispano-Visigothic Church. The more than 800 entries and more than 2000 documents in Appendix I illustrate historical and literary events and data, some of which are now known for later studies, but which preserve the freshness of coetaneity, spontaneity and liveliness of those who have lived personal experiences, both inside and outside libraries. The Abbe Manchego carries out his bibliographical work in the Roman archives when he was around 60 years of age, and above all, focuses on the manuscripts that provide oneself with certain philosophical content or life experience.
